ECONOMIC ABSURDITY

We're really utterly insane
To think that we must wait in vain
For the Economy to poo
So we will have a job to do.

If we were blessed with half a wit
We wouldn't shovel all this shit.
If only we ignored it's word
Our lives would not seem so absurd.

We can decide how we should live!
That to Economy we give
The right to choose what we can be
Is absolute absurdity!

HUMANS SACRIFICED to ECONOMY

CHRISTMAS WISH '08

My wish for gifts is now long dead.
It is for 'sight' I wish instead.
This year I wish we all could 'see'
Beyond our god Economy.
I wish that everyone would pause
To study this guy Santa Claus.
We'd 'see' Economy the same.
She differs only in her name.
From Santa we expect a gift
We hope will give our life a lift.
Economy we want to give
A job to us so we can live.
We stare at her immobilized
What we can do unrealized.
At such a cost there is no doubt
This 'santa' we should do without.
If we could 'see' we don't survive
To keep Economy alive,
We'd see each other as we should
And give the gift of common good.

CHRISTMAS POEM

ECONOMIC REPORT 11/08

IMG_0654.JPG

These days our god Economy
Is everyone's concern.
She's sick so 'doctors' study her
To see what we can learn.

When she is sick she can't supply
The cash she needs to give,
Which we then spend and spend on her
Just so our god can live.

Thus 'doctors' try to figure out
How do they stimulate
The health of our Economy
So jobs she can create.

We fear that if the 'doctors' fail
To keep our god alive,
Our social structures will collapse
And we will not survive.

Two thirds of her lifeblood is what
The 'doctors' realize
We need give to Economy
To stave off her demise.

What does it say about us when
To something we create
We give the power that allows
Our living to dictate?

It says we are ridiculous
To be at such an end
Where god Economy tells us
Our purpose is to spend.

JOE the plumber: the American Dream

JOEPLUMBER_PIXEL_SI_415361a.JPG

The plumber Joe they both toyed with
Just represented the great myth
That if we work hard, it would seem,
We will acquire part of "the Dream".

"The Dream" though has the consequence
Of using us at our expense.
In 'Dreaming' we all spend our lives;
But at "the Dream" no one arrives.

"The Dream" is meant the void to fill;
However, no one ever will.
We'll try forever but will find
"The Dream" can't buy us peace of mind.

I think it's time we realize
"The Dream" we chase is not the prize.
We should eliminate this waste
So we can then at long last taste

Real life as it was meant to be,
Without "the Dream" philosophy.
Without "the Dream" we can reach out
To what real life is all about;

To ends of our capacities,
To others and to God who sees
The value in what we become
Together, as the human sum.

BARACK OBAMA: victory speech

03obama4.jpg

"The road ahead (it) will be long.
Our climb (it) will be steep.
We as a people will get there.
(But it will not be cheap.)"

What is the peak we have to scale?
The road, where does it go?
What is the cost to follow him?
We really ought to know.

Perhaps he does not see a peak.
He could be in a pit
That into which no light can shine
And so he can't see it.

Maybe his road has not an end
That's clear as it might seem.
It's been so long he may not see
His end is still "the Dream".

When he explains the costs to us
What items will there be,
Our bank account, our way of life
And our philosophy?

The speech inspired but we need more.
His words do not shine far.
If we can't see a lighted end
We'll end up where we are.
